Electric Snow Thrower
Tip 1 - warehouse & Maintenance
After use store in dry place and make sure it is out of the way to avoid accidents, pretty distinct but just a reminder. Your electric snow blower requires servicing just like any other mechanical tool to ensure that a) it still works when you need it and b) you get the best doing out of it. Many specialists advise exterior your snow blower with a towel or some kind of cover, in my sense this just protects the motor from accidental knocks while stored.

Tip 2 - normal maintenance checks
- Checking the health and lubrication of chains if used on your model, if the chain fails to work or breaks while doing this will do a fair degree of damage to your machine. Make sure it is taught and well lubricated, check the by hand if you're unsure.
- regularly checking the rubber on the auger can save you heal bills or replacements in the long term, the space between the housing and this should be less than the width of a finger. If you find that's it's bigger than this it's time to replace the rubber.
- Worn areas on the scrape bar need to be replaced, lay the electric snow blower on its side as it is easier to see the whole of the scrape bar, fixing these will limit the risk of causing damage to the housing which can be high-priced to fix or replace.
- It is also suggested that you check all of the snow blowers bolts, belts and other fascinating parts before they come to be worn out, again this will save you high-priced repairs or replacements.
Tip 3 - Amp load
Some Electric Snow Blowers like the Toro Snow Thrower Power Curve 1800 have increased the amp load, I have had many questions inquiring if it's safe, whether it will blow out or if it will knock any other appliances out etc. Modern breaker boxes are designed for a 20 amp load on each breaker circuit and a dedicated breaker should not carry more than 80% of its capacity. So for example the 15 amp load of the Toro Snow Thrower Power Curve 1800 is in the safe range of an individual circuit and should not be at risk at throwing the breaker switch. This could be an issue if the Snow Thrower is sharing its load with other appliances in the house so use a dedicated circuit and you should have no issue with this.
Tip 4 - Snow Throwing Technique
It's disputable whether your electric snow thrower throws snow as far as manufacturers say they do or as far as you would like and it's normal that your snow thrower will throw snow a shorter distance to the side than it throws directly ahead. The way to address this issue - if it's a question for you - is to clear your driveway, walkway or anything it may be with diagonal movements, so that snow is thrown directly ahead of you. If you not getting the distance from your electric snow thrower then trying to do it lengthwise on a driveway could mean that you have to move the same snow more than once. This is not all the time the case but as I say only if this is a question for you.
I also have someone else great tip to address this issue so don't miss next issue of electric snow blower tips - part 3!
